From the movie "8 seconds"

There's a hundred years of history and a hundred before that All gathered in the thinkin' Goin'on beneath this hat.

The cold flame burns within him 'Til his skin's as cold as ice And the dues he paid to get here Are worth every sacrifice.

All the miles spend sleepy drivin' All the money down the drain, All the 'if I's' and the 'nearly's,' All the bandages and pain, All the females tears left dryin'. All the fever and the flight Are just a small down payment On the ride he makes tonight.

It's the guts and love and glory, One mortal's chance at fame.

His legancy is rodeo

And Cowboy is his name.

His time has come, where he holds on tight
He wraps the rope and sits up high
Now he dont care bout the pain or the noise
He just nods his head and says "ok boys"
They pull the gate,
while he goes for the eight
The crowd comes to their feet
And the bull takes the first leap
To the cowboy it seems like eternity
But it will be the most unforgettable ride anyone has seen
For the first couple of seconds everything is alright
Then from the crowd you could hear a gasping cry
The outraged animal went out of control
It reared up and down and crashed into the wall
The cowboy rider fell hard to the ground
All the rodeo clowns gathered around
As he lay there helplessly on his back
You began to hear everyone clap
He stands up to dust himself clean
All he thinks about is next week at St. Augustine
